Sylvie Stewart-Grantham

Biological Technician

BSc Hons

Sylvie graduated from the University of Guelph, with a B.Sc. Honours degree in Environmental Biology along with a minor in Biophysical Geography. During her time at Guelph, she developed special interests in ecosystem conservation and forest mycology (fungi!). Sylvie’s research thesis focused on investigating several common wood rot fungi for antagonistic characteristics towards three Armillaria species known to cause root rot in native trees. Having grown up in the Comox Valley, Sylvie was eager to bring her knowledge and experience back to the place she feels most connected to. Outside of work, Sylvie loves Nordic skiing, hiking, kayaking, and knitting an excessive number of toques and socks!
