Hannah Sungaila

Biologist

Dipl Tech, BSc, MSc, R.P. Bio

Hannah joined the Current team in 2022. She completed a BSc in Biology from UBC, a Diploma of Technology in Fish, Wildlife and Recreation from BCIT and an MSc in Natural Resources and Environmental Studies (Biology) from UNBC. Hannah has a background in fisheries science, with more than eight years of professional experience in fish biology, stock assessment, fisheries management, fish habitat assessment and restoration, hydrometric assessments, and water quality monitoring. Since joining the  team, Hannah has diversified her experience and is now involved in a wide range of projects including bio-inventories, impact assessments, stream restoration, environmental management plans, and construction monitoring.


After growing up in North Vancouver, Hannah spent nine years in interior BC before returning to the coast in 2022; she is ecstatic to be back by the ocean. Hannah is passionate about growing her own food and enjoys discovering new hiking and swimming spots with her young family and adventurous dog.
