Chloe Howarth
Biologist
BSc, MSc, R.P. Bio
Chloe grew up in Campbell River and, after a few years living abroad, returned to Vancouver Island to earn a BSc in Biology and Environmental Studies from the University of Victoria, with undergrad research experience in palaeoecology, entomology, and marine sciences.
Her passion for ecology then took her to the interior of BC, where she worked on a Western rattlesnake project. This led her to complete an MSc at Thompson Rivers University, focusing on rattlesnake migration and habitat selection, while also leading the Osoyoos Indian Band’s snake conservation program.
With a strong foundation in wildlife research, Chloe has worked with various species, from herpetofauna to large mammals, with a particular focus on spatial ecology and conservation. After five years in the interior, she returned to the island in 2024 and joined the Current team where she is excited to apply her skills to new projects.
When she’s not working, you can usually find Chloe outdoors—whether it's mountain biking in the forest, hiking the alpine, or spending time on the water. She also enjoys sewing, crocheting, and curling up with a good book.
