Caitlin O'Neill

Biological Technician

Caitlin graduated from the University of Guelph in 2009 with a Bachelor of Arts and Sciences Degree in Biology and Geography. She later completed a post-graduate certificate in Ecosystem Restoration at Niagara College in 2013.

 

Caitlin started her career on Vancouver Island working in eco tourism as a sea kayak guide throughout northern Vancouver Island and abroad including New Zealand, Bahamas, and Chile. She moved to the Comox Valley and started working with Current Environmental Ltd. in 2014 (as their second employee ever!) and has remained there ever since. Caitlin has extensive experience in all aspects of environmental work undertaken by Current, from GIS mapping to report writing to field work. She has a particular interest in habitat restoration planning and implementation (primarily instream, wetland, and riparian habitats) and has been the manager and lead Field Technologist on several medium to large scale restoration projects in the Comox Valley. 

 

In her spare time, Caitlin enjoys kayaking, canoeing, mountain biking, skiing, and going on outdoor adventures with her growing family
