Current Environmental has worked as the primary consultant to local Streamkeeper Groups in partnership with DFO in planning, designing, and implementing instream salmon habitat restoration projects including work with the Little River Enhancement Society. A multi-year plan was produced with LRES with the intention of improving salmon spawning, rearing, and overwintering habitat in this increasingly urbanized watershed.

During the spawning run immediately following summer restoration activities in the lower watershed, salmon were observed spawning on constructed features in a section of the creek that they had not previously been known to utilize. Future works will focus on installing spawning platforms, large woody debris/pool complexes, and restoring riparian habitat.
